15-16 years ago, I was working my first job as a teenager, living with my estranged father after an argument with my mom. I was about 16/17 years old. My dad lived out in the boonies in Tennessee, maybe a 30 minute drive from town.

 I did a closing shift and left work about 11pm, headed to my dads little trailer in the mountains. There were winding, secluded roads for about 20 minutes of the drive, but the road we lived on was the worst for curves. At one point, following a creek, you practically do a u-turn following the road. 

 It was dark, but as my headlights revealed a sight of vision around that “u-turn”, I saw a gigantic creature stepping his leg over my neighbors barbed-wire fence, installed for his horses. I never saw his face, and the light of my car headlights only lasted as I made the turn. 

 I never spoke to anyone about it until my grandpa, a few years later, who grew up in the same house, told me a story of he and his cousins as children running up on moonshiners and Bigfoot (not at the same time) in those woods. My husband thinks I’m crazy! I’m only now, as an adult, coming to terms with what I saw as a wee little teen.

Usually barbed wire fences installed to house horses are four to five feet tall or taller. Do you happen to know or can estimate the height of the barbed wire fence the gigantic creature stepped over?

Can you estimate the height or width of the creature? Were you able to determine its hair color in the headlights?

Yes, you are correct - the barbed wire fence was about 4.5 ft tall. Given that, I would put it at about 8-9ft. I couldn't really get a good grasp of how wide it was, because I was seeing it from behind at about a 4 o'clock angle. However, I do remember the color very well as it was a greyish/white, which I think made it stand out to me so well in the dark.

My encounter was around 5 years ago. I was not a believer in bigfoot/sasquatch.

 I was drift fishing for catfish in a swamp area behind a large lake...at around 2 a.m. i drifted through a cross creek and as soon as i crossed i heard faint whispers of a conversation on the right of the creek i was in... ( God i know it sounds nuttier than squirrel turds) but i couldnt make out the language but they were clearly talking.

 After about 20 minutes i got to feeling very uneasy and in the back of my mind i kept thinking about sasquatch. Because who would be coonhunting in 2 feet of swamp water with no coon dogs way out here in the middle of nowhere? 

 Then the voices stopped... I heard 3 knocks on a tree, almost immediately 3 knocks on my left! I said to myself " that's some bigfoot shit" i spun my boat around towards the left and all at once the 2 on my left started throwing rocks at me ( they were missing on purpose) i got stuck on a sand bar as a huge willow tree about 15 feet high started shaking. 

 The growling continued as i got back in and turned on my mickey mouse trolling motor to a warp speed of 2 or 3 miles an hour. The one shaking and growling was now on my right, i finally heard water moving on the side where the 2 talking were... 

 The aggressive one was following me on the bank continuing to growl and breaking huge branches. The rock throwing slowed down but as i was coming to the cross creek where it all began i could see large waves in the water ( which had to be 10 feet wide) as if a man was swimming frog style underwater next to my boat. ( I started reading about it and found out bigfoot had been seen before swimming underwater like a frog) as i got across the cross creek everything stopped i believed i had gotten out of their territory.... 

 

 I went about 50 yards further away and yes i started fishing again. The funny thing here is i was catching huge blue catfish in the area they started following me and their conversation sounded unpleased with my luck... But when i left that area i wasnt catching nothing. 

  I came back the next day. I went to the willow tree and saw a path through the grass where the aggressive one was. I could make out large footprints in the grass and there was a branch as big around as my arm about 9 1/2 to 10 feet off the ground was broken twisted off the tree and the bark split off the remainder of the branch and halfway down the tree. 

 Another funny thing is i left a couple of fish at that tree. When i went back the next weekend. I could hear the faint whispers again but i did not get that uneasy feeling anymore from them and they did not run me out of there... I took other nonbelievers out there on two trips... They both now believe. 

 The lady i took saw him in the moon light she described he was in the water and was huge maybe 8 feet. It was hard to tell because he was in the water and she said he was making certain that she could see him but kept moving slowly and quietly behind a large brushpile so that i could not. 

 I apologize for the long story but it was a scary 40 to 45 minute encounter. I will take you out there if you wish. However i would prefer my name not mentioned nor the location. Thank you

Were you able to measure or estimate the length or width of the footprints when you went back the next day?

 Interesting encounter, especially because your lady saw one in that area.

 Since i took 2 people out there on other occasions... I was curious whether you or someone else would be interested in seeing or hearing them. This happened at the end of april 5 or 6 years ago.

 The footprint was in grass i wear a size 13 boot and it was easily 4 or 5 inches longer and a couple inches wider than my boot plus that critter was heavy judging by the indentation in the grass and mud compared to mine.

4 or 5 inches longer than a size 13 boot would put those tracks around 17 to 18 inches long and a couple inches wider than your boot would put them 6 or 7 inches wide.

Hello there I just wanted to share my encounter with you. I don't really like telling anyone about it because they always think it's not true. But it's been about 5 years ago in Clinton, TN. 

 I was getting ready to go to work on 3rd shift at 10:30pm and my girlfriend had told me that there had been a skunk outside eating our dogs food, but they could only smell it and hadn't saw it. 

 Well, I'm about to go start my car and I hear that metal food bowl being knocked over, so I look out the front door window with a flash light and there's this huge black manlike figure standing there looking directly at me. 

 It had red eyes when the light glared off of them and it had to have been 7ft tall standing there just like you and I would be. It scared the crap out of me because I haven't ever saw anything like this before, so I fell to the ground and got up and ran through the house. And by the time that my girlfriend went to look outside it was gone. 

 But I know for a fact it was no bear and I was just kinda speechless for a min. But I haven't saw it again

 Hello I have watched your YouTube videos several times and I decided to tell exactly

What I saw. I was in living 6 to 8 months a year for 5 years in the same area.

I cannot tell you exactly for it would expose still existing business, living 

For my Cherokee friends between the great Smokey mountains N Carolina , TN .

I got laid of from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft  in 81 ,I had friends down south 

They make Smooth corn 🌽 liquor and I would take it up north several times a year.  I lived out in the backwoods several miles from any official rd .

Native Americans owned local homes and trails from their home 

Their stealth and cabins built into hill sides with pines covering you never would know anything . 

 I was there just 1 week .I get up early roughly 5 am I heard clacking of what sounded like a coffee pot or banging in the distance .

There is a creek that was maybe 75 yards away and then maybe 75 ft down. I ran down a trail and once I got to the waters edge ,I was stifled with fright I saw a Big Female at least 7 ft tall, I am 6 ft 240 lbs she had to be at least 500 lbs when she moved the water waked with 2 little ones under 4 ft tall.

 She was in the water ,maybe 40 yards from me I heard a loud snarl,   I was so scared my 🥜s pulled into my body and felt like I was almost kicked just maybe 10 seconds.

I pulled out a Smith and Wesson knife.

For what ? I don’t remember running and clawing up the bank but when I reached the top I had somehow cut through my fingernail and lost the knife my hand was bleeding and nails full of dirt, I made it to the dug out house. 

And ran in frantic. Woke everyone up and people got up I was gasping for breath. 

They said whats going on? I told them what I seen and they just started laughing. 

And said I see you met hairy man. To them it was not uncommon they said we know when they are around ,many times they come looking investigating but not too close and walk like a dog when they are in the area eye shine reddish yellow. 

In the distance through military field glasses they told me ,showed me their game trails and through canyons they ambush deer, and many wild pigs. Which we heard screaming two days later. Their were pieces of a boar just what was left in pieces.

My friends said they use big rocks to cripple deer before they break their neck or slam them into the tree. They make stashes, piles of pine cones they bury for winter . They are very smart and know what guns are and avoid man because of it dangers their family and existence . To this day I still have the cut through my fingernail where I cut myself escaping up the side of the creek . From summer 01-06 I spent over 1000 days in the same location ,and for sure even through field glasses at least 2 other clear views but at maybe 1/4 Mile away ,threw field glasses looked maybe 50 yards away , the first week  was the only time  I got that  close and I would not go down to the creek by myself in the 5 years I spent there.

We lost touch, my friend had moved. I moved to the u,k for a few years after that,that I will never forget ,and learned a lot about wood markers and trees as communications wood knocks ,whoops you would hear monthly I was told they have a roughly 30 mile territory they keep unless threatened to move.

And that knocking I heard at the creek they were eating fresh water clams.

Which we found the shells several days later and ate cray fish, .That was as much as I remember ,best regards PJ Lett.

 For 35 years I did not say anything for many people ,like Atheist if they can’t see 

God he don’t exist . 

Even when I was in the service at Fort Knox ,there were several strange circumstances on bivwack ,up north KT West Virginia boarder some things 

Just not possible made us take notice .I did it see anything ,but beyond human strength.

Hey y'all, I went on a morning mountain hike on one of the trails in the Rocky Mountains in Tennessee and came across this foot print. Could you help me identify what it is please, I want to rule it off in my mind as weird shoe print but the heel is too narrow to be made by a human foot. In the pictures below, my foot is next to the prints for reference and I wear a size 9 men's if that helps with anything.

Look bigfoot shaped etc.. However there are those toe hiking shoes people use now. So when the footprint is narrow it becomes toe hiking shoe suspect. Adult bigfoot heel is usually 5 inches wide where it begins to curve to the back. But then again have saw some tracks and casts where some have narrower feet than the norm. Believe they have different unique characteristics just like any other animal or human.

 I never told anyone because when I saw him I was escaping a bad person who was a family member. In that context I didn't want to share but now 30 years later I think I can tell you.

  I was hiding near stinking creek. Yes that's the real name lol its on the map. It was about an hour before dark. I had been crouching under a very big tree being very quiet so my mean older cousin couldn't find me. I noticed everything else got very quiet. No birds no anything. I thought my cousin found his way to me so I looked around to my left and right and of course in front. I crawled around the other side of the tree and there was this giant hairy dark brown man. I think he was a good 9 feet tall. I'm no stranger to measurement. I could easily see he was male. He was about 13 or 14 feet from me standing next to a tree. When we locked eyes I was on all fours and he stepped behind his tree but stayed there peeking at me. 

 I was so scared of running because I didn't know where my abusive cousin was and I was afraid to stay because of this big foot. My papaw was a Cherokee elder. I knew of bigfoots at a very young age and I was taught they would leave me alone if I left them alone. 

 I got myself into a squatting position on my feet but still squatted ready to run in any direction. I started to cry. I was 10 years old and quite small. I tried to cry quietly but i whimpered for a couple of seconds that's when he and I both heard footsteps not too far from us. 

 We had eye contact for a good minute. I was afraid to but i took my eyes off his and started to scramble around because I knew that had to be my cousin coming. I climbed into a hollow stump a few feet from me. He seemed to know I was crying and hiding from the person approaching I can't say for sure but I think he was helping me hide. 

 When I climbed into the stump he stepped over next to my stump and crouched between my stump and the footsteps. He stayed until the footsteps were gone. I felt like when we were looking at each other he knew I was crying he didn't want to hurt me. I was afraid to be near him but the look in his eyes was soft and understanding. If it hadn't been for my cousin I'm sure I would've ran not even to make eye contact.

  His face was brown skin with a smashed wide nose. A slightly cone shaped head no neck and his shoulders were every bit of 3 feet or 4 wide. He didn't have a tapered waist. His legs were bigger around than my torso. His eyes were a golden brown and I could see his brow I could see his expression.  

 When the footsteps were gone I peeked out from my stump he stood turned to look at me for a second then walked away calmly. He got about 7 or 8 feet away turned and looked at me again thru the branches and turned back away and kept walking. I was scared to death but what I was dealing with from him was much easier than my cousin.  

 Another thing I noticed when he looked at me for the last time thru the branches he moved a couple of them with one hand...a dark brown hand with 5 fingers very big and hair only on the back of the hand. There was no hair at all on the bottoms of his feet they looked quite flat and hair on the tops. 

 This starts the 2nd edit I've added to my reply I keep thinking about it now. The whole time he was walking away I stayed inside my stump only peeking out to see. I was down low. I saw his rump and his muscle outline and movement. The bottoms of his feet really stood out. They were huge and smooth and flat like I said and I could see them well.. below the brush as he walked. His face I remember well because I looked at it the longest. Mostly skin but hair came in close. His brow was big and changed with his thoughts. When he crouched by the stump his back was to me. He had more hair on his back side of his head and shoulders.

 Its ok if u don't believe me. I lived it. I know what happened. Yours may have wanted u gone or to eat you but not my encounter. I know they are as diverse as humans. Depending on their resources and personalities and experiences. I like to think he helped me.

Greetings from Tennessee. Wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed your videos. I especially like your travel vids as I am amazed at the vastness of the wilderness areas in your part of the states.

 

 Yes, we have those critters here as well. I live beside the Great Smoky Mountains and do a lot of hiking and a shutterbug as well. I have some hair from a BF, it was a hank of hair that my hiking partner found off trail as he went to “relieve” himself. He found a small cleared area that was torn up and this hank of hair (reddish to dark brown) It looked like a small ponytail and could only have been plucked by a hand. Did not have it identified as there is nothing else to pull a ponytail of hair in a clutch such as that. And five miles from the nearest road as well. Coming down from Thunderhead Mountain one day he heard an awful "roar" up the trail from him, then a few seconds later a response that he said sounded quite angry. It was like no sound that is know to come from any animal in this area and we have heard them all. I believe Les Stroud lives in this county as well. So with this said I will return to watching video of the Logan canyon Bigfoot Roundtable. This may be about number thirty that I have watched. One was over 3 hrs and I watched every minute. Thanks for the email. Would like to see photos of the hair you collected. We own some hair we found near some bigfoot shaped tracks and sent generous samples to 3 Universities & Museum of Cryptozoology back in September of 2013. So far none have claimed to found a match. 

 Brody a biology student at the time spent a week with his professor at Weber State University with the hair under a microscope making an attempt to match it with an archive of North America mammal hair samples. After about a week of no match that's when we were told to reach out to other Universities..

 So if you can send a couple of good photos would be cool to see if they have similarities or differences..

I can send you (by mail) a couple of these hairs. I did keep a small sample of them before my partner took them home. Sadly…when he got home he placed them on the steps as they did smell bad. He noticed that when the dogs ran up to the hair , they sniffed …started looking about …then promptly ran away. He did not retrieve the hairs and they probably blew away. I did not know he would not take care of them or I would have kept them for consideration. Also this was before all the TV footage of Bigfoot etc…So he may not have considered this…I did consider it for nothing else would have explained that situation. Sooo…send me an address and I will put a couple in the envelope and send them to you in the hopes it will help.I have ran across “trail markers” in these mountains and taken pictures, but I have about 26K pictures to look through to find them. If and when I do I will share with you.

I would like to see a few photos of the hair. The whole remaining sample you have and then if you could get a few close ups of a couple different strands.  .

These were placed into this glass case the day I collected them from the “pony Tail” my friend found. The longest hair was approximately 6 inches. I do not have a Macro lens (in digital that is) so these pictures may not be worth very much. Shot with canon 5D3 24-70- 2.8 lens. I find the colors in the photos to be very true to what my eye sees. I also suspect some degradation because of age. Hope this helps. Rick

Incidentally….One of our local BF hunters, a quite serious one at that, uses a back shoulder cam. He has recorded BF peeking out from behind trees as he travels trails. They are quite aware of where you are facing, so this may me worth looking at in certain areas and times. I certainly hope you and Jenny get to see BF  soon and with video at that. Have a great day!
