Campers encounter Bigfoot in Maroon Bells Mountain Range
Maroon Peak Sasquatch Harasses Campers near Aspen Mountain

Late 80s I and a group of 7 Mormon church people on a hike
in the Maroon Bells range behind Aspen Mountain encountered one of them. We
were setting up camp around 3 p.m., at timberline, around 13,000 feet elevation.
This was the 2nd day of a 3-day trip.
I'm scanning this cliff that merged with
the slope above us across a stream with my binoculars. That's when I see what
looks like the back and shoulders, of what I think is a bear. Sitting with its
back to us close to the edge of this cliff, which was about 50 tall. I called the other guys. " Hey, I think we got a bear
on this cliff," and they come over. Five of us, three of us had binoculars, mine
was a military one that my dad gave me.
I'm looking at this... And then it stood up,
turned around, and looked down at us. Red brown fur covered, human looking
body, from just above the knees. Arms long, past the waist, and the head, it
was too big to be a human. It was a male.
Its face filled my
binoculars as I had zoomed in on it. Massive head, it looked like a mix of
primate and kind of a Asian human-like profile. Kind of a big & wide nose, huge mouth, but it
was the eyes looking at us. They were this red tint. The pupils were jet black.
He looked right at
me, and we had a stare down for a good moment, 5 to 6 seconds. Then the other guys
bolted immediately to the tents, but I was frozen completely. We continued to
stare at each other for a bit more. Then its expression changed to kind of a "oh
shit" look. And he bailed backward in a flash and was gone.
I estimated him to
have been 9 to 10 feet tall, and he was massive. So, we continue to set up the
camp, and nobody is talking about it. The group leader, who briefly saw it
also, says, "When we get back, we’re not talking about this,
understand?"
Then that night, it got scary
there about 3am in the morning when it creeped through our camp. I'm laying in my
tent, when his shadow crosses my tent in the moonlight. I wanted to jump out
with my camera, but I couldn't move for some reason. He stops and cocks his
head to listen, then moved on and back into the trees.
Next morning, we get up,
break camp and proceed up the slope to the top of the range above us. That's
when we see footprints in the snow all over the slope. Two places where he sat
down in the snow. The leader says to me "you're not taking any photos of
those, understand?" And I didn't. Except for two.
Just at nightfall off
the cliff. One had two green glowing points in the tree line, two eyes. I'll
never to my grave forget looking into those eyes during that stare down. There
was intelligence in them, but it wasn't a human's eyes I saw that day. No man
in a suit could have been standing there looking at us.

In the summer of 2003, I was driving home to South Central
Colorado after picking up my granddaughter from Farmington. We were traveling
over Wolf Creek Pass when I saw 6 to 8 vehicles pulled over with many people
out of their cars, some standing while others were walking closer to a
group of trees away from the highway.
I pulled up close to a gentleman nearby
and asked what was going on. He told me a bigfoot had been seen running across
the highway toward that direction and they were all trying to get a better look
at it. I wished him luck and continued on my way.

Weird Hand Print
To Whom It May Concern,
This is about my weird handprint. That I
received on the side of my 68 Dodge
van, camping on 25 Mesa west of Delta Colorado on August
27, 28, 29, 30 in 2024. I drove up Highway 348 out of Delta, it turns and goes south to Pea Green
Colorado. But instead of taking the left turn to Pea Green, you stay straight and the road becomes 25 Mesa
Rd. It is approximately 35 miles up 25 Mesa Rd to FS 504 Rd.
At approximately 1 mile there is a
driveway to the left then a cattle guard. Less than 1/8th of a mile several, dirt roads turn to the left
that go back into the trees and a bunch of campgrounds.
The campgrounds are all set up with stone fire rings. I got
up there on the 27th of August around 2:00 pm and the rest of the day was uneventful. Billy (My 3-year-old
Chihuahua) went on alert, looking out into the trees several times. But no alarms that night. On
the 28th the next morning I took Billy on a walk down the trail road inside the campground area. As we
were walking about 2 maybe 3 blocks away from the camper, I noticed these two trees. They are
about 30 to 40 ft long, maybe 1.5 to 2 ft diameter. And they are crossed in the middle and standing
up. Then a ways down the road I saw another one. I thought how weird, and why would people go
the trouble of doing that. Then I saw this A-frame structure standing I would say 10 to 12 ft tall
and maybe 12 to 15ft long and the logs are big (2ft or bigger trunks) and the tops are what appeared to
me to be, woven into each other.
In other words from My point of view, I did not see rope or wire or
anything holding them together. A couple of hours later to my recollection it was about 11:00 am to
noon.
I decided I would get my garden chair out, put a mat down
for Billy, and enjoy a cold beer.
While I was sitting there, I was looking out through the
trees. I noticed a very black thing about (Oh I would guess 100 or 150 yards away).
And as I said on the
phone, if You were looking at a Human from the left side, then turned them away no more than 45
degrees, was the angle I watched this thing. I got my binoculars out and I watched this skinny, long-legged,
with really long arms. Crouched down and picked something off of the ground and ate it. I watched it
for a good 20 to 30 minutes. I let my binoculars down, took a drink of my coffee and looked back
and it was gone. This baffled me all day, and Billy continually went on alert (no growling but looking)
out in the trees.
On the 29th it had sprinkled rain that night and it looked
like if it rained hard enough, I could be
in a fairly large mud puddle. So, I took Billy for a walk
and found another spot (in the same
campground area) that had more grass and solid ground to
park on. I moved around noon and that afternoon around 3:00 pm I again was sitting in My chair and
facing the same direction as the day before (West). I notice this black half-round thing move out
on the side of this bush. It was probably about the same distance 100 to 150 yards through the trees.
I got my binoculars out, sat down, and started watching, and that was when I realized this bush was
actually a thick tree and this thing kept leaning out from the back side and then leaning back in (out
of sight) and it was about 12 ft above the ground. The action I watched was just like someone standing
behind a tree and then peeking out at me. This only went on for about 10 minutes, then it quit. I can
only say that it had no distinct ears and all I saw was half a head, nobody. And it was black and furry
looking. But it was so dark colored that I could not pick out any facial features.
Around 4:30 the rancher stopped out on the road, FS504 and I
walked through the grass. He
introduced himself and I had met his son the first day I was
up there. I can't remember their names, probably would have paid more attention if I knew what was
about to happen. But he asked Me if I wanted to stay up there by Myself. I told yea I'm having a
great time. He said Ok There's weird things happening. And then I walked off. I did notice that he and
His son didn't have time for the visit. More like hurry up got to go vibe.
That night it was raining and I turned in early. I just got
into bed when something started
playing with my license plate hangar on the back of my
camper trailer. It set Billy off immediately, and not only did it sound like someone pulling on a screen door
spring with one finger but I pictured that in my mind. It pulled on it like that 5 or 6 times. Then it
started pushing and popping the aluminum siding at the back corner (5 or more times). Then it shook the
trailer sideways, back and forth 3 or 4 times, knocking Billy upside down. Then it got quiet for I would
say a couple of minutes then BANG! It slapped the side of My truck cab, hard enough to shake the
trailer (I always stay hooked up to the truck). I spent all night clutching my Hunting knife till my hand
ached. The next morning, I looked for tracks
but it rained too hard. But I do have a very strange
handprint on my truck.

The weird fur was found near Cedaredge, Colorado by a friend
of mine that wants to stay unknown. I would like Your advice where I could have
this thing tested and identified. Then the mini human prints (as I call them)
happened March 26, 2025, up on Sawmill Mesa outside of Delta Colorado. It has a
big toe with 4 smaller toes (each toe getting smaller like our human toes do.
From side to side at the toes it is barely 31/8 in wide: at the hell it is
barely 2 inches wide and from hell to toe 8in long. There was only 3 prints all
right side, 36 inches apart. The first print is only toe tracks; the 2nd print
is just a hell and toe track. but the 3rd is a full print with a rock smashed
down in the dirt. Over the course of 4 days, I walked around up there to try
and find left sided prints or more prints. There was none, only 3. And they are
on top of my tire track from driving in the day before.
I am attaching my photos for you to see. Thank You for any

Saw one face to face through the window of an overhead RV sleeping cabin. Carrying an elk partial head torso over its shoulder. The dead animals horns scratching against the glass is what woke us up. The sleep area above the cabin was 9-10 feet above ground level. The creature lost its composure or cool when we turned lights on and closed the curtains. All hell broke loose. The 35 foot RV almost tipped on its side from violent shaking. First sighting here was 1984. Last sighting I had was 2000. Both Colorado high country.

The time you saw it carrying the elk. What part of Colorado and how tall and wide would you estimate the Bigfoot was?

It was before midnight but late. I’m guessing it was 8-9 feet tall and maybe more. Definitely wide like shoulders 3-4 feet across but dark and hard to tell but the elk horns and elk body covered so much area of what my brother and I could see. Definitely saw the creatures face clear as can be. Curious and scared looking face. Wide open eyes. It was startled and upset. This particular incident was in Gould Colorado Rawah Forest I think.
One thing I’d like to share is the sound it made when it seemed to be pushing/ trying to tip the RV was almost like a donkey but backwards like heev hoeing Hawww Heeeee. Strange loud and my family even armed with pistols and revolvers refused to step outside during probably 5 long minutes of chaos. 6 people were in the RV. About 40 yards from us were friends in a tent and we were terrified for them for sure. About 2 hours into the night my father went to check on them and woke them. They slept through the whole ordeal. Lastly the “Bigfoot”
My brother and I talked about it all of the 80s. It’s face seemed to have some kind of distortion or maybe a disability, like maybe horribly damaged or deformed. We always joked when we watched Goonies. A face like Stoth sort of but strangely sad like Down syndrome or gigantism that only affected part of it. Definitely changed my entire family and usual camping routine. Just as a thought at first sight my brother was convinced it was a huge horned man outside the window.

I would imagine an illness or injury could of caused the distortion on its face, unfortunately they have to tough that sort of thing out & hopefully survive things like that throughout their lives. Reminds me of an article we put out recently about an Orangutan with a serious face wound that may of been caused in a scuffle with another rival male. The wound could of been lethal or disfiguring, but this orangutan made his own ointment to fight infection and help itself heal.

Wow, we literally just got back from Silverton , and camped right off of 550, in Mineral Creek campground. We've always liked that area, cuz it's loaded with 4 wheel passes. I've grown up hunting, 4 wheeling, and camping.
When I was 11, and my mom was 40 (I'm 49 now ) , we were on Stony pass, at the other side of Silverton, up pass Animas Forks mining and ghost town. After topping the pass, I told dad that I need to find a tree. When we hit timberline, me and mom got out, and did our business.
When we were zipping up, a bigfoot stood straight in front of me. I remained still, and quiet, as we gazed at each other. So much expression on its face, seemed so sweet, almost loving. My mom screamed, get, or go on, and it side stepped behind a pine, and we ran. Dad was on his way up, to see who mom was yelling at. But, it was long gone. I never thought they were in America, or even real. Loch Ness monster, bigfoot, all just made up I thought. But we knew instantly what we saw. No mistaking it for a bear. It stood about 20 feet from me, and looked so sad when mom screamed at it. I cherish that encounter, and so does my now 78 yr old mom. Not one day goes by, that I don't relive that event. I'm now open minded to anything.
I went over Stony pass last week, but it rained me out, when I decided to investigate. As soon as you hit timber, start looking for the arched trees, by the dozens, and horizontal trees, high in the air. Good luck to you guys. I love the San Juan mountains, and will retire there, in a few yrs. Thanks for letting me tell my story. Sorry it's so long. I love love your channel, and I love you two so much. Bless you, and a super big Thank You!!! I have to tell you one more part of our encounter. When we got up to our spot ( to pee), we heard talking, cracking , walking ,laughing, and we assumed that the road must switchback above us, so mom said shhhh, so they don't see us. We assumed hikers were there. It got very quiet, and that is when we saw it. We then realized that we were in a small patch of trees . No other humans were on this pass. We met no one coming up or down. Lot less 4 wheeling back then. Now Polaris's are buzzing like bees over those same passes. I saw fewer animals due to the noise, and the popularity of off road vehicles. We have a Polaris Ranger, and we crept quietly and respectfully over those amazing passes. You guys gotta see what can't be seen by the highway. Rent a jeep, and go see. I promise you'll thank me lol. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! Have fun, I'm so jealous. My home away from home. ♡♡♡
