Hello,
I'm a 63 year old retired State Corrections Officer and Criminal Gang Investigator from Ohio. I was born and raised my entire adult life in rural Southeastern Ohio in Noble County, Population less than 10,000 at the time.
At any rate, this is something I've never told to anyone except my adult children and then only within the last few years.
I grew up outside and just north of the small community of Caldwell, Ohio. About a half mile from where I lived at the time was an abandoned stone quarry that was a frequent place for kids to ride bikes, hike, and in general screw around. At any rate, this happened on a day in July before my 10th birthday, which is in September. I was riding my bike in the stone quarry looking to see if any of my friends were back there..
At the end of the road in the quarry was an abandoned building which had 3 rooms and was an office when the quarry was in operation. It was just an empty building with no doors or windows anymore. Anyway, I stopped in front of the building probably about 50 yards away to just look around.
When I looked at the building I could see into one of the windows on the west side of it and normally, from that angle, I would be able to see right thru the empty building and out the doorway behind where the window was, which led to the outside of that building on the East side. Only this time I couldn't because the silhouette of what looked to be the outline of what I initially thought was a very large person. It in fact almost covered the entire doorway of the building as it was walking away.
I got a very, VERY weird feeling and got the hell out of there. I didn't know what I saw at the time, but it scared the shit out of me.
4 years later in the month of August, I'm walking back from my Uncle's dairy farm at Caldwell Reservoir. Since it was 3 miles to go thru the woods and cross country instead of the 5 miles if I walked the roads, I decided to cut thru the woods and farmland.. I'd done it numerous times before with never a worry.
There's a section where I crossed off my Uncle's farm, and crossed over a fence into an adjoining hay field which was about 100 yards wide bordered on the west by very thick multiflora rose and on the east by very dense hardwood forest. When I crossed over into the hay field and began walking I noticed what I thought to initially be a person walking coming up out of the multiflora rose and began walking across the field. It got about halfway across and I was still trying to figure out who it was so I yelled at it... 'HEY!' (Since it's a small community, I figured it was somebody I possibly knew. I wasn't very far from my house).
At any rate, when I yelled, whatever it was didn't completely turn to look at me, but only seemed to glance, but I noticed it definitely picked up walking speed. It was then I could tell it didn't appear to be wearing clothing but appeared to be very dark brown to almost black from head to toe. I did not make out any facial features, but I did notice it appeared to be very tall with longer than normal arms.
I was probably about 5'8" at the time and the grass in that field was almost ready for cutting and was almost waist deep on me. On that thing, it appeared to be about knee deep. At any rate, I started to get a really creepy feeling after it disappeared into the trees. So much so I turned around and walked back to the road where my Uncle's farm is on and walked home the roadway.
I never told a soul about this until I finally told my adult kids about it several years ago.
My son had me tell his girlfriend, but I don't think she believes me. And I don't care. I know what I saw, and nothing will ever change that. After thinking about it, I believe the animal I saw crossing the field is the very same animal I saw in the abandoned building as the 2 sights are less than a mile apart.

You have to remember this was some time ago, but I'm going to guess it was probably close to at least 7' in height.
Even though the two sightings were a few years apart I'm sure it was the same creature. They happened within a miles distance of each other. The first time I saw it in the building window I think it was watching me because I was a kid on a bike. The second one in the field, I believe I caught it unaware as it was crossing the field. That's why it started walking faster when I yelled at it. But I'm sure where the same creature.

Back in 1974 around May in Ohio, about 15 miles south of Canton there was an old train tunnel you needed a 4 wheel drive to get back in about a 1/2 mile. Nobody lived near the tunnel.
So that night around 1:00am about half way in, a large tree at least 6" diameter started shaking and there was a deep growl & grunts is how I'd describe it. Then it stopped and minutes later rocks were thrown from the woods.
There were 6 of us, one guy picked up a rock and threw it back. And that pissed that thing off and it started throwing bigger rocks. I told the dip stick to stop, then everything stopped.
May I remind you in 1974 there was no internet and in Ohio we didn't know a damn thing about bigfoot. Anyway we went to the tunnel & while returning to the cars, I could feel & hear foot steps. So I told them to stop and be quiet. It stopped also, we then continued back to the cars.
I was in the first car & when we turned the lights on there it stood. 9 to 10 feet tall & 800 to 1000 lbs, blackish fur. I think the lights surprised it for about 10 to 15 seconds. Then it jumped sideways into the woods and was gone.
Didn't talk about it for years cause it was said we were either drunk or high. Know that I'm 67 & I don't give a shit what people think. Don't know what happened to the 5 other guys. But years later I figured out that the old rail line went to Minerva, Ohio. Around 10 miles from the old tunnel that caved in about 30 years ago.
5 years later at Atwood lake about 10 miles south of the tunnel. Myself my ex wife an old friend and his wife around Midnight, we were skinny dipping in the lake. When across the lake the loudest and longest vocalization you can imagine. We had to leave to for the girls, and my friend said outta here.
No human can sound like that, they are real and need to be protected from hunting. Just thought I'd share my story have good day.

Were you able to determine how wide the creature was, could you see its face, eyes or hands?

It happened so fast, it had no neck and the chest was 3 to 4 feet. Couldn't get a good look at the face but I don't think there was much hair on the face . For the longest time back then you couldn't talk about it without people calling you a nut job.
It's good people like yourself and others proving I'm not a nut job.

As you can see, all the hype about using drones to capture Bigfoot footage is over hyped. To clear the tree cover this creature is always in, puts more distance between the creature & the drone camera.
Boots on the ground is still the best tool for gathering evidence of this elusive giant.

I'm originally from North Salem, Ohio. Though this was many yrs ago now I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was 7 yrs old. We had just moved back to the area after my mom had left my dad. I grew up moving a lot because my dad worked for AT & T as an underground linesman when AT&T was expanding across Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. I grew up in the cities and small cities in all 3 states from Toledo to Flint to Indianapolis to Springfield IL. So as you imagine. I had never even heard of Bigfoot or Sasquatch, the Hairyman... none of this was ever said or spoken of.
My mom had gotten a job with Hamilton Beach in Byesville Ohio and worked afternoons. My grandmother would watch us til she picked us up and took us home. She would talk to us while we would get ready for bed every single night. We lived in a secluded trailer park in the country. There was a huge cornfield behind our trailer a picnic area in a wooded area at the end of the road that took us to where our trailer was. It was around 1145 pm to 1200 am. But this reddish brown 8 ft to 9 ft, what I thought looked like an orangutang walked across the road in front of us in four strides and went off into the corn field. I never said a word. I looked at my mom. She never said a word. We pulled into our drive she got out and got my sister out and said I want you both to get ready and go to bed. She laid a .45 on the kitchen table and we went to bed. I never asked her about it. She never spoke about it. My father was an avid hunter. We had a bearskin rug from a bear he had shot. And I know bears in Ohio are no where as big as this creature was even standing on their hind legs.
North Salem is on 5 min from the Salt Fork State Park in Ohio. On the western side of the park.
I saw your video and heard you say you didn't care how long ago it's been since I saw it. You are the first person other than my cousin I have ever spoken to about this.

I am 55 now. But now you hear about all sorts of sightings in the Salt Fork State Park area.
I guess Ohio calls him the Grassman
But I live in FL now and here they call him the skunkape
I saw these one morning walking my dog just 2 weeks ago.

Like I said it looked like a giant orangutang. Except it's eyes glowed like red instead of gold like a deer or any nocturnal animals does.
I'm an army veteran and I've seen some things but never anything like that. And who do you talk to cause everyone is going to tell you you're crazy

There are thousands and thousands that have actually reported seeing the creature in North America. Plus there are many videos and photos that cant be explained that have bigfoot type creatures in them.. So we dont think anyone that has encountered one is anything strange. Just really rare.

That's the only time I've ever seen one. But like I said it is just like I saw it yesterday. The image will always be with me. And the reason I say orangutang is as a child I went to the Toledo Zoo and I knew what gorillas looked like, I knew what chimpanzees looked like, and I knew what orangutangs looked like. This looked like the biggest orangutang I ever saw minus the flaps on its face like orangutangs have.

Me and my family have seen a all black figure twice now on a fence line coming from a pile of dead chickens from a chicken farmer. It crossed a 300 yard field very fast...first time my kids told me they saw bigfoot I just blew it off until me and a neighbor farmer seen it middle of the day with our own eyes!!!
We are located in Minerva Ohio sorry forgot to mention that! Outskirts not alot of homes around.

Whatever it was, was 500 yards solid dark in color like black. And seemed to be walking like a robot. Second time it's been seen here...I was never a believer but I am now...couldn't see eyes or hair nothing like that. Seemed to be decent size I'm 6 foot 300lbs was definitely taller and bigger. Crazy thing is I have a thermal and coyote hunt alot here and have never seen nothing! But idk definitely saw it that day.
I decided this past week to tell my story at 48 I can't take it to my grave so with all the new evidence and research out there I decided to let it go so others could put it out there I'm giving you my story and the permission to tell it to others keep up your good work!
On a fishing trip with my dad Jeff Sr, and uncles Mike and Rocky back in the 90s to a buddy of ours Tom. We were up on his land absolutely perfect layout up there on the border of Indiana and Ohio.it was a beautiful late September day still warm but chilly at night we decided to have one last go at it and nightfish up on toms mountain for bass and crappie.
We'd never fished it all night but that was the plan we arrived to the top after a good 45 minute hike straight up the mountain we hit lake 1 lake to a good 100 yards up higher but lake 1 was better, your in a bowl kinda and a ridge over on the left sits high and keeps the wind off the lake. Runs all the way down from high to low ending at lake 1, the fish were biting great the cows were over on the left as always drinking and laying in the mud to keep cool. It was warm that day and we had a good feeling about the night as well to be good and it was until about midnight the fish shut down and the cows got up and flatout got outa there and headed up the mountain to lake 2.
About 45 mins later we heard something moving towards us off the ridge from the backside of us but thought nothing of it, moving slowly but evasive definitely defensive and methodical but yet coming towards us. We kept on fishing not thinking anything else of it, it was nature and that's what we took of it but nothing was biting and about an hour later I thought well I'm moving to the left side I knew of a hole over there 5 ft deep and knew a few big ones layed on that spot so I grabbed another pole and the minnow bucket and the lantern and made my move over that way slowly.
As I made my turn around the bend I shined my light over that way and put it right on something so beautiful crouching down and its right arm in the lake cupping water out with it's hand it knew it had been spotted at this point and slowly turned it's head over it's shoulder to view me and as it did it began to growl a low curdling growl with an opening of its mouth I see 4 canines and a bunch of regular teeth as well as a set of wicked yellowish glowing eyes as well it was very dark only light was the one lantern we had and I had it in my hand, I was frozen and couldn't move or talk let alone think at this point traumatized in shock and really taking the moment all in. I slowly began to hear my family whispering jr. what is that u see, is that a deer? I gain my composure and all at once yell. "Hit the mountain now!"
We all bolted towards the edge, flying like the wind. What did I just see? I was running hard but yet didn't feel fast enough, down the slope branches boulders everywhere. I passed my dad and uncles in no time they'd had a head start by a few seconds because I had been at the turn they were at the edge, fishing right behind them was the way down. I get out in front and tried to keep the light up so we could all see where to go but we ended up bunched in and we all tripped and we all tumbled and rolled off the ground.
Getting back up only to do it a few seconds later yet again scared to death was an understatement. It felt like forever getting to the bottom, we finally got to the car each one of us hands on knees sucking for air at this point asking one another what the hell did we just see jr.
I slowly caught my breath and told them you know what we seen there is no doubt I know what I seen and you all were only 20 feet away from me we all agreed to keep a pact a secret didn't want people up on toms land hunting for it, as well as have Tom being mad at us for letting it out my uncle telling him later what we seen he'd had an idea all along why you think no-one night fishes here, he told my uncle Mike we were in the right place at the right time that night. Down wind and or that was just the way it worked up there it seemed/ the cows rolled out at midnight and then this. Then deer at dawn, did this thing come down for water ? Probably it had been a warm day, or did it come for both water and then lie in wait for deer at dawn for a chance to ambush food? well never know we never went back after that night (feel free to tell my story you have my permission JDL

Wow that is an amazing encounter.. Did the creature ever stand up or leave the location while all this was happening?

It happened within 2 mins and No it didn't even stand up. I think it was just as shocked we were there honestly it came off that ridge and hadn't a clue we were there. The lakes edge was 3 feet tops from the woods all my info on height and weight was estimated but I can say I'm 5 8" and it was 4 foot at least in crouching position all muscle beautiful cinnamon colored fur I remember the feeling of being hopeless going down that mountain like it could grab anyone of us if it wanted to at anytime. But that climb ends at about a 80 degree angle then flattens out to lake 1 then on the north side another climb starts up on a 60 degree angle to lake 2 then flattens out so once we hit the edge u couldn't see the lake anymore like I said right place right time setup was perfect wind from west to east we were down wind the whole time I don't think it had a clue we were even their all we were using was minnows for bass and crappie.
