 I have copied and pasted my incident. I have pictures available also:

Sept 2-4, 2024. My brother-in-law (BIL) and I went on a camping trip in the northeastern part of the Kootenai National Forest close to Eureka, Montana and the Canadian border. We were camping at Weasel Cabin beside Otter Creek, off of Frozen Lake Rd. 48 58’42”N 114 44’07”W - Coordinates computed after returning home and may be off a little.

It was the second day of camping, Tuesday-3 Sept 2024. We were exploring around the camp site and came across a “foot print” just beside the creek that ran beside our campsite. We discussed what it was, jokingly we said Sasquatch. Unfortunately, I did not put my foot beside it in the attached pictures. I wear a size 13, and it was about the size of my boot, maybe a little bigger. But you could definitely see toes in the print. We laughingly decided it was either a young “squatch” or a bear double step. We hiked around the area and found another possible partial print on a hill just in front of a fallen tree but did not get any pictures. We noticed toes in that print also. During a hike further away from our campsite, we followed an abandoned overgrown trail and I noticed several broken branches about shoulder level (I am 6’2”) and thought it was odd, but thought no more of it.

Between 2000 and 2100 hrs (8 to 9pm), something either landed on top or was thrown against Weasel cabin with a loud impact. We investigated but found nothing. In all honesty I thought nothing of it other than weird. Sasquatch activity did not enter my mind. Now I definitely believe it was a Sasquatch trying to warn us away.

Later that night at approximately 2200 hrs (10PM), BIL and I were sitting around the camp fire talking. During the conversation I noticed a few whoops to the west of us coming from the vicinity of the forest we hiked earlier (there is nothing but thick uninhabited forest to our west for miles). I motioned for BIL to be quiet and we began to hear “whoop, whoop” (short pause) then another “whoop” at a slightly higher tone. This pattern of “whoops” went on for several minutes. I jokingly made a couple of “whoops” of my own in response. The whoops continued for about 3 more sets, then I heard a very low deep rumbling “whooooo, whooooo” like an owl, but in hearing owl sounds in the past I was certain it was not an owl making this sound (BIL did not hear it). Whatever made this set of “whooooo’s” was definitely large. After the double “whooooo” everything went quiet.

Both BIL and I are avid outdoorsman, spending years in the forests hunting camping and hiking, very familiar with the animals and animal sounds in the area. I am retired military, where I specialized in long range surveillance and reconnaissance and I am also a former police officer. BIL is a former police officer so we both are trained in observation and noticing details. We sat there trying to figure out what we were hearing. At first, we thought the initial “whoops” was a dog in the distance but it was quickly ruled out. Then we thought possibly an owl, but the both of us have heard them before and this did not sound like an owl at all. Definitely not a bear, moose, deer, elk, nor a mountain lion because we’ve seen and know what each of them sound like in the wild.

Around midnight we turned in for the night. I laid there thinking about the “whoops” and it dawned on me that the tone of the “whoops” sounded like it would have come from a female (woman/creature). The deeper toned set of “whoooo’s” sounded indicative of a large male (man/creature). There was nothing to indicate any human was beyond where we were. The road dead ended shortly past our location and no one had driven or walked by us. There is nothing but empty national forest beyond where we were for miles.

The next morning (Wednesday) we broke camp. While we were packing up BIL stated before I woke up, he heard the “whoops” a few times coming from the opposite direction from the night before, but then nothing. We departed without further incident. Later that evening while watching “Expedition Bigfoot” one of the investigators recorded the very sound of the deep low “whoooo’s” like I had heard during our trip on his parabolic microphone, it was chilling.

I have always believed in the possibility of Sasquatch but need definitive proof to be a believer. After discussion and eliminating all possible explanations BIL and I have come to the conclusion what we heard could have been nothing other than a couple of Sasquatch communicating and Sasquatch activity, nothing else makes sense.

On the 8^th of September 2024- Went back to location, took pictures of surrounding area. Re-located the “print”, took measurements and additional pictures. Length- 13 inches, width- 6 inches.

 We have been through Eureka, Montana on a few occasions and have also done some hiking in the Kootenai National Forest from Eureka to Libby and Troy. It's an amazing area, no wonder there are many Bigfoot sighting reports from around there. As a matter fact we received some photos of Bigfoot tracks found in the snow on a family’s property near Troy Montana last year.

 Thank you for doing a great job documenting everything you saw & heard.

The video shows some of the toes very well and the print seems massive for being 13 inches long when you include the width that is easily 2 inches wider than most men’s boots.

I appreciate the compliment. I just found the fascinating once it really registered what was going on. I have always been interested in Sasquatch. And, as indicated in the report, made several jokes referring to 'Squatch during the encounter. It just seemed unreal or unbelievable as it unfolded and again, a few moments for it to hit me as of what was happening.

 I don't know the exact date, but in September of 2023 I went on a hike in the Bitterroot Mountain range near Victor Montana. I was with my brother and his girlfriend, so I was third wheeling and just enjoying my quiet time while they chatted and giggled and were all cute together. It was a decently long hike. We were gone for 6 hours that day.

I had a fanny pack, but my brother and his girlfriend were training up for backpacking and had heavy packs, so we took frequent breaks for them to catch their breath. On one of those breaks I started staring across the valley to the mountain next to us. I didn't have any binoculars, so I was staring at the clear meadow that was all green and wondering if it was green with grass or moss. The large meadow was surrounded by forest on one side that was notably burnt in a fire and some forest that escaped the blaze, the rest of its surroundings went from green and smooth looking to there being large boulders that had fallen from its rocky mountain cliffs above. In the middle of the green clearing there was a massive rock that appeared to be obelisk shaped. As a fan of finding Montana megaliths (see Julie Ryder's work).

 I thought the rock looked rather intentionally placed there. I was far enough away that I can't give an accurate guess at the size of the rock, but I would say it was at least 13 feet tall. I was staring intensely at the rock and letting my imagination wander about its origin as it was so far away from any other boulder rockfall off the mountain...

 When I suddenly got the intense feeling of someone watching me. It was accompanied by a feeling of brief panic as well and I immediately went from staring at the rock to the lone black burnt tree maybe 6 feet away from it, the only tree in the clearing. All other trees of the forest were at least an estimated football field away.

When I stared at the tree, expecting some kind of movement since my eyes were drawn there. I was already a fan of the idea of bigfoot since childhood and had recently been listening to the Sasquatch Chronicles podcast for fun. Upon arriving to the trailhead, I even jokingly told my brother I would be "squatching" during our hike. As I stared at the tree the feeling intensified. The panic seemed to fade and I felt a tingling start at the top of my head that was really weird to me.

 I wasn't very spiritual before this encounter, but upon adopting new age spiritualism after this incident I would say the feeling was how it felt when my crown chakra would open up during meditative states. After that tingling happened, I felt a feeling of total peace, and it was beautiful. The black tree didn't move an inch even though I was highly suspicious of it. I also have this memory of there being a blue-ish purple flower at the peripherals of my vision when the peaceful feeling came. The color reminded me of chicory root flower blooms, but I suspect what I saw based on shape and color was the Egyptian blue lotus flower (something I have since adopted into my spiritual practices in the form of a nightly tea). 

This whole stare down with the tree probably lasted two minutes. My brother and his girlfriend had been happily chatting this whole time several feet behind me. I turned to tell my brother about my weird feeling and the suspicious burnt tree trunk, but as I stared at him I remembered he had a bear gun and as a peaceful fan of all things bigfoot I didn't want to risk my brother panicking. I had looked away from the tree for about 3-5 seconds max. When I turned to look back the obelisk rock remained in the clearing, but the whole ass black tree trunk was gone. It was at least a 9 foot tall "tree" and could not be found. Naturally I looked downhill from the obelisk first, just in case the tree had fallen and began rolling down the mountainside. There was nothing in the green clearing below, no sign of a fallen tree. I then went into shock and awe. I didn't talk much for the next hour or so of our hike. I decided the only logical explanation that fit my beliefs was that I had seen a black haired bigfoot by accident.

 It sensed my gaze, panicked, generally read my intentions and communicated peace through telepathic-like means, and ran and hid the first chance it got when I looked away. I do believe even with its massive size it could have literally taken one or two steps and hid itself behind the obelisk. If it managed to run to the forest in those few seconds, I would be extra horrified at how fast it was. It would have been a mostly uphill run to the partially blazed forest above. What I saw was massive and could not have been a bear. It appeared to be a bigfoot turned sideways for a side profile. The top of the tree did have a conical shape, no branches or obviously broken off branches nubs. I just originally assumed the tree was burnt many years before and had been weathered down to its smooth charcoal shape.

I took zero photos on that hiking trip even though my phone was in my pocket the whole time.

I do intend to hike back to that location next summer for pictures and if possible, to measure the obelisk rock and to send pictures of it to Julie Ryder. It might be on private land though, so I'll have to go with my brother since he has apps for being able to know if a place is public or private land. I did not even think of trying to go to the location to look for footprints. Between me and the other side of the valley there was a creek that was raging with ice-melt that wouldn't be safe to cross. I would have to cross very early on where a single ancient bridge was falling apart and that was back at the beginning of our hike.

So that was my bigfoot sighting and a spiritual awakening for me all in one. Now I host the "Helena Bigfoot Believers Hiking Club" and we go on hikes a few times a month and have enlightening conversations about everything that adds that feeling of magic into our lives. It's very open minded and super fun.

The only weird thing that has happened twice now on such hikes is some group members being able to hear a heavy breathing/panting sound that sounds massive. Many assume they are hearing a bear, but there is absolutely nothing around us even though it sounds so close. It comes and then it goes, never an actual sign left of a physical flesh and blood creature. I heard this once before as well and it did not scare me oddly enough, I did think I was hallucinating though. Having it happen again with two members of the hiking group makes me think it was something a little bit supernatural that fits under my woo-woo ideas about bigfoot. Like a cloaking ability, or being of two dimensions at once. It was really fun and I didn't feel in danger, but I saw those who heard it were scared initially. Very smart and logical men who loved hiking and had never experienced that before. Everyone had been resting for several minutes as well already before their strange auditory experience, so no one's blood should have been pumping heavily in their ears to create such a false sound.
