Sasquatch Curled Its Upper Lip & Looked Directly At Me - Bigfoot Was Trying To Intimidate Me

My first encounter was about a mile up in the woods above the upper dam at Koon and Gordon lakes. I  was buck hunting, later in the first week, I think Thursday,  because I went back to work the next day..

We had a small dusting of snow the day before,  and it was in the 40's or close to 50° that day. I got there at daybreak, and walked up to a nice spot, where 3 hollows come together.  You can see several hundred yards from this spot. I sat until about 12:30, and didn't see any deer, so I decided to take a walk further up the mountain, since the leaves were wet, and it was quiet walking that day.

I walked down across the shortest hollow, and up the other side which was very steep. It flattened out at the top of the hill,  and as I stepped up on the flat, about 10- 15 yards away from me was a wide black animal with its back turned toward me, sitting with its butt on the ground,  like a dog, or ape, as I later realized,  and it's arms angled down with its hands on the ground, and its knees bent with its feet on the ground.

It's back was wide, head was right on its shoulders,  it had long black stringy hair. The first thing that came to my mind was BEAR, but somethings didn't look right, which I didn't realize right away.  It turned its head and saw me, then ran away from me,  up the hill,  on all fours for about 40 yards, then it got up on its back legs and started running like a person!

That's when I thought what the hell was that!? I started chasing it up the mountain,  through a thick section of mountain laurel, and those red jagger bushes. It moved through the jaggers and mountain laurel without making a sound, where i was struggling to get through it.

As I got back up to the open woods, I walked a little way up the hill,  and this is where I am thinking there was more than one, because I saw this creature walking on two legs, along a logging road in front of me from the left towards the right. It was only about 25- 30 yards away from me.

There were about 4 or 5 large rocks along this tram road, spaced about 10 yards apart from each other. The creature would come to each rock, and step with its right foot, right on top of the rock, and step up on each rock with one effortless step, then curl its upper lip, and look directly at me, like a dog raises its lip if you try taking its bone, then it would step back off each rock, then walk to the next rock, and did the same thing.

I felt like it was trying to intimidate me. After the second rock, I lowered my gun, put the sling on my shoulder,  and put both hands in the air, to try to make it see I wasn't interested in harming it. It stepped on the last rock, and balanced on its right leg for a few seconds,  stepped down,  and turned to its left, and up a small trail straight up the rocky section of the mountain.

I started following it further up the mountain. It was much faster than I was,  and it zig zagged up the mountain about 200 yards ahead of me, but would stop, and when I'd get about 100 yards from it,  I would see it walking up the other way in a zig zag pattern. I  got closer to it, maybe 50 yards away,  and it lead me up to the steeper section of the mountain,  on a trail right through a really thick patch of mountain laurel,  that had a hard clay ground with less leaves, and the trail was mostly bare clay.

It started to get very thick, and I could only see about 15 feet in front of me.  I heard several of them start to run up through the mountain laurel,  hearing their feet slapping the clay ground. It was too thick, and I didn't feel comfortable going through that thick laurel,  so I went back down and back around that area in the more open woods, and as I got to the top where the mountain flattened out again,  I saw the creature walking around a yellow gate and up the logging road into posted land on top of the mountain.

Since it was posted, I decided to go back down,  and I went home.  The whole time, from when it got up on its back legs and ran like a sprinter, I was determined to figure out what I just saw with my own eyes, and it took a while to sink into my head, that I just saw something that I was not sure what it was.

I also didn't realize the size of it until I came back to that spot one day. When it stepped on the first big rock, it's head was almost touching the branch hanging down from the big oak tree. I also walked up to each rock, and the top of the rocks were up to my chest, and I would have to put my knee halfway up on the side of the rock and climb up on it, which would be very hard to do.

This creature stepped up on the rocks with very little effort! One step on, and one step back down! I could see its leg muscles flexing, and I could see it's teeth when it curled its lip at me. It never made a sound, no growl or anything.  The oak trees are massive up there, so I didn't realize how big the creature was. When it first ran away from me,  I would estimate the back on it to be 3 1/2ft -4 ft wide, and when it was sitting on the ground,  it was about as tall as me at least.

I recently looked up a chimpanzee and gorilla sitting on the ground, and this thing was sitting identical to a chimp, and very similar to a gorilla. It walked and ran very smoothly, almost like floating,  and was silent walking, and slipped through the mountain laurel and jaggers without crashing through and without making noise.

This was in around 2005 or 2006, before any bigfoot shows, and before digital cameras,  and before camera phones, so at the time,  I heard of bigfoot,  but didn't really believe there was such a thing.  I went home and told my Dad just the first part of what I saw, what I first thought was a bear, but it got up and ran up through the thicket, and he stopped me and said, I don't want to hear no bs. I didn't tell him the rest of my encounter,  because he didn't believe me.

The next day,  I  went back to work, and at the time, the manager was a former deputy game warden in Bedford, and Huntington counties.  I told Bobby what I saw, and asked him if he knew what exactly it was, and he said You saw a Bigfoot! I asked him,  are there really such a thing? He said definitely, he has seen a few.

He was a very great bear tracker, and he told me about a farmer's land in Bedford County that has a family of bigfoots on their property. I will try to describe what the Bigfoot looked like, to the best of my memory.

It was somewhere between 7 and 9 feet tall, I'm guessing. Tall and lanky, kinda slender, but very muscular. It had very long thighs, it's arms were down past its knees. It had long flat feet, and long hands like a man. Had no neck. It's head was like a cross between a man and an ape. It's eyes and nose was sunken into its face, nose didn't stick out like a person. It's lips and mouth area were much like a chimp. It's entire body was covered with dark grayish brown wavy hair, just slightly darker than a beech tree, and its hair had a sheen to it that made it blend in to the trees very well.

It's whole face was covered with long hair, except an oval area around its eyes. It's hair was thinner on its thighs, ab, and pectoral areas, and it's bicep area. It had huge muscles like a body builder, especially its thighs, shoulders,  arms, and chest muscles, and abs.

When it would curl its lip at me, I could see one long fang tooth, and the rest of the teeth were flat, and  off white in color. They look alot like a gorilla's teeth. It's eyes looked like it had big dark pupils, and a little white in the corners when it looked at me.

Its skin, where the hair was thinner, was a little lighter gray than it's fur. When I saw the Patterson film years later on tv, I was amazed that the Bigfoot I saw looked almost identical in the face, and color! The only difference,  I think this one was a younger male, possibly teens to 20's , but not sure.

This one seemed to have its nose sunken further into its face. I don't expect people to believe me, but I am telling the truth, and it doesn't matter to me if you believe me or not. I know exactly what I saw, been back to the same spots many times,  and know exactly where it was, so there's no doubt in my mind that Sasquatch do exist.  You have to see one, then you will believe it! Thanks for sharing my encounters.

It's crazy how difficult it is for people to believe just about every encounter that is put out, even though they are 100% true, but I understand,  because it takes a while for yourself to accept that yes, I really did see what I saw.  My own dad didn't believe me,  and wouldn't even let me finish telling him what happened.

The next day I went to work and the manager was a former deputy game warden for Bedford and Huntington and he was a very great bear tracker. I told him about when I thought it was a bear at first,  but it ran away on an fours  about 30 to 50 yards , and got up on it's back legs and started sprinting up through the mountain laurel and jaggers like nothing,  and I asked him what it could be,  and he said You saw a Bigfoot! I asked him have you ever seen them, and he said he did see a few,  and knew a farmer by the fish hatchery between Pleasantville and Fishertown   ( Bedford County), who had a family of them living on his property.  His name was Bobby.

As far as cameras, back in 2005-07, digital cameras were just coming out, and those little Nokia phones didn't have cameras like they do today,  and I didn't carry a camera until I had an encounter with 5 bears on the next hill over while archery hunting, then I started carrying a 35mm camera with film, because I couldn't afford a digital camera.  I did get a picture of the bear that came at me though. I appreciate you sharing my encounters.

I kept that to myself for a long time.  I don't care if people don't believe me or think I'm crazy, because I know exactly what I saw. After doing a little research on gorillas and chimpanzees,  I saw alot more similarities when I first thought it was a bear until it got up on its back legs.  The way it sat, exactly like a chimp/ gorilla, back straight up, sitting on the ground,  legs bent, and long arms extending diagonally to the ground, I realize now that it had . It's hair was also longer, and stringy, not fuzzy like a bear.

It's shoulders were also more square like a ape or human, not like a bears front shoulders. It was upright, unlike a bear. When I got up through the jaggers/laurel,  it came from my left, straight across,  so I am thinking it could have been a second one, but I am not sure.

I believe the one I chased through the thicket was heading straight up the mountain, which would be where the upper clay trail through the more thicker mountain laurel was that I eventually followed the one up to, and I heard several running just up ahead of me. I could hear the feet slapping the clay ground as they ran up the trail.

I wanted to give you the most detail that I remember. I remember everything about it and I can't forget it. It's one of those things you can relive every time I think about it. I included a picture of the bear that came at me, I  took it a week later,  armed with a shotgun, lol.

The other picture is the actual rocks that the Bigfoot stepped up on to try to intimidate me.  They are well over 42 inches tall, or up to my chest! One step on, curl its lip and look right at me, step back off easily,  walk to the next rock,  all 3 rocks like that! You can't forget something like that! Hair stands up on your neck! HaHa 😅
