Bigfoot- Like Specimen Some Experts Claimed To Be a Primitive Hominid
The Minnesota Iceman or "Ice Man" was described by cryptozoologists as a man-like creature with ape-like features. When displayed for the public it was frozen in a block of ice. Approximately 6 feet tall and appeared to have trauma or an injury to the left side of it's face.
From 1967 to 1968 the strange creature was displayed at the Chicago Stock Fair along with several different carnivals & state fairs along the Midwest. Around six fee tall, covered with hair & was never "scientifically" identified.
Many experts believed the creature to be a deceased primitive human. Zookeeper Bob Surpleksi examined the creature when he was a young adult & came to the conclusion the creature was not made out of latex or wax & was certain it was not a man made exhibit.
Environmentalist David Rivard examined the "Ice Man" at an exhibit in 1968 & concluded it was not made of wax or man-made material. He believed the specimen to be a deceased animal or hominid.
Veterinary & zoological researcher Dr. Terry Cullen saw the creature when he was seventeen. He stated the creature appeared to be a six-foot tall adolescent male. It was covered with medium-length hair and had highly visible follicles. He also noticed a traumatic injury to the left side of the face. He stated that there was a notable odor coming from it as well. He was certain that it was "made out of flesh".
Terry visited the creature several times and became convinced of its authenticity. On one visit, he sneaked in a magnifying glass to get a better look at it. With the help of the magnifying glass, he was able to tell that there was a death grimace on the face. He also noticed that the upper lip was pulled back a bit. He also observed all four incisors, which were very and large and squarish, similar to an orangutan's incisors.
Terry felt that the creature was important enough to bring in scientific personnel to view it, hoping to establish that it was either some unknown creature or a fake. Over the next few weeks, he tried to entice several scientific experts to view the creature. Eventually, he convinced an anthropologist from the University of Minnesota to view it. The anthropologist spent about fifteen minutes observing the creature before leaving. He was shocked and amazed by the creature, but could say little else about it to Terry.
A man named Frank Hansen got possession of the "Ice Man" in 1967; he showed it briefly to several scientists and fair-goers. When the creature became national news in the summer of 1969, the FBI became involved, believing that the creature was a murder victim. An officer met with Frank and he agreed to show him the creature. The officer told him that he would come back the next day with a pathologist to examine it. That night, however, Frank left town with the creature.
A few months later, Frank turned up showing off a replica of the "Ice Man" at several fairs in the Midwest. The real "Ice Man" has not been seen since 1969. Frank refuses to talk about the creature and where it really came from.

I was living in the little town of Troutdale VA. The home is back up on side of mountain bordered by national forest on 3 side. The AT. runs very close by and there are 3 wilderness areas near by. I was only about 4 when this happened but I remember like yesterday.
It was late at night and I got up to go pee. We had no bathroom or outhouse so going to relieve one self required heading to the nearest tree or in my case the front door lol.
As I was walking by the kitchen window I noticed I couldn't see out it. Something blocked the view.
I pause trying to figure out what was going on when it bent down and look right at me.
The thing was massive. It's eyes glowed sort like fire coals.
I was shocked to say the least. I forgot about needing to pee. And ran back to bed screaming that there was a gorilla outside.
Of course I woke most of the house up with that.
The adults looked around outside and saw nothing. Said I was dreaming, but I wasn't.
The moon that night was behind the house and the creature was in its shadow so the eye glow wasn't a reflection of moon light. They glowed on their own.
Later I saw the same thing down in a deep hollar. This time several of my cousin saw it too. The same red eyes and massive body. It walked like a man but it stepped across our fence with horses.
We noticed it watching us, after we stop playing and it knew we was watching it, it walk away into the darkness.
I'm not sure if it was trying to enter or just curious about what was in there.
