Whirly Mountain Bigfoot at Walker Lake
R.S.M. writes RMSO
I grew up in Westwood. Very close to here. I saw Bigfoot in 1999 at walker lake. Clear as day. Scared the shit out of me.
I've been fishing bridge creek and whirley mountain runoff for thirty years... anyways... A good friend and I went fishing one morning in Hamilton branch very close to walker lake (mountain meadows reservoir). We got to the creek well before light and were parked for about an hour at the bridge with the yellow gate. About 1/4 to 1/5 mile from walker lake itself. We just sat there, in the car, bullshitting waiting for sunrise. This was June by the way. Just as it was getting light I was the first to spot it. It was across the bridge on the left side about twenty feet off the road. We were about 35 yards away! It's color and motion was what took my attention. I backhanded my buddy across the chest in mid sentence when I saw it, so he could see it too of course.
I immediately thought it was a bear, but it was walking through the brush towards us.... And it was standing up! I know bears stand up and walk a little bit, not like this. And my brain couldn't make sense of the size of his head. It was absolutely, clear as day, less than half the width of a small black bear. I could only see it from about the chest up, it was obviously walking swiftly on two feet. I was overcome with fear for a sec. I wanted to believe it was some fu**ed up looking bear.
But we were both scared. At this point it noticed our car parked there and took an immediate right. (Left to us). And within a couple steps was completely obscured by the brush. My buddy started the car, but we didn't go anywhere. We sat there in udder fear. After about fifteen minutes we both decided we had to go inspect the spot. And at this point one of us had said the word Bigfoot. We walked across the bridge up to exactly where we knew we saw him. And it turned out that the immediate right he took was a dirt road. The brush beside the road is about 6 feet tall. He was absolutely at least 7 feet tall, walking gracefully on two legs, with a head not much larger than a man's. The road was hard gravel decomposed granite that they use around here. No footprints at all. We looked very well. I would be happy to show you the spot and introduce you to my buddy who saw him too. Just let me know.
I forgot to mention that between his movement, and the surprise and shock of the moment, I regretfully could not, or did not see any facial features. I was consumed with trying to rationalize it as a bear. I'm not sure if I explained it right, but fear was the order of the day. And I've grown up in the mountains and woods. I've lived in the wild for months and months at a time. This was different.

Burney Creek Bigfoot Observed by Fisherman
Fisherman Reports Sasquatch Observing Him near Burney Creek
Fisherman writes RMSO
Living in Northern Calif my whole life and being a avid outdoorsman I can say without hesitation or fear of ridicule that " Bigfoot " absolutely exists. When I was 14 in 1984 I went to Burney , Ca to visit cousins that summer. My cousin and I were fishing for brook trout in " Burney Creek " and had travelled pretty far into the woods along the creek . Just fishing different spots and not really paying much attention to how far we had actually wandered along the creek.
It was about 4 pm and we noticed it was starting to get darker as the sun had passed overhead and dipped below the crest of a mountain to the west of us. We decided we had better start heading back after realizing just how far we had actually gone. Having left the house at 7:30 am that morning we were pretty far from town and the safety of my aunt and uncles house.
As we started back wanting not to get stuck in the dark out there so far away we stopped fishing our way back and just walked . It wasn't long before we heard something off to our left crashing its way through the buck brush on the other side of the creek . Not thinking to much of it assuming it was a deer heading to the water we just kept walking and talking. A few moments later my cousin and I both realized that the " Deer " or whatever it was had gained some serious ground and was no longer 40 to 50 yards to the left rear of us but was now almost paralleling us as it was crashing through the thick brush in our direction.
Looking at each other silently as we both realized its loud thumping steps weren't being made by 4 separate hoofs impacting the soil as it walked but instead were being made by 2 separate thuds with at least a second of time disappearing in between each step. Intuition , fear or just plain common sense instantly set to work on both of us and we went from a steady walk to a " Keep up if you can ! " sprint back towards town . No longer paying any attention to anything besides what was in front of us and each step , we made good ground pretty fast being a couple of tall thin teens with a adrenalin rush and desire to see the next day . Pretty soon we were back onto the small gravel road we started our journey from that morning and just a few hundred yards from town and completely out of breath so we slowed to look behind us and listen . Eerily silent it had become with just the noise of us catching our breath and the flowing water of " Burney Creek " as it flowed past some 40 yards to our rear . Suddenly and simultaneously we both seen what had been crushing its way toward the creek and us some 20 minutes and 3 miles or so earlier.
A very large hair covered bipedal figure that was now standing at the wooded edge of the creek next to the end of a small wooded bridge we had just hoofed across. And by very large I mean huge considering it was half the width of the bridge at the shoulders and the bridge that was some 4 to 5 ft above the creek and yet only appeared to be just below waist height of the creature as it stood down by the creek next to the bridge . Whatever it was , it just stood there for what seemed like forever just staring at us as we stood there just staring back at it. Then it just stepped back into the thick brush and it was gone. And without a word spoken to each other we turned and started a half hearted jog back towards town. It was a good 15 minutes later as we walked through the front gate before a word was spoke about what we had just experienced. And that's when my always nonchalant cousin just turned to me and calm as could be said " We're going to get yelled at for being gone all day . " A comment I completely ignored by asking him " Do you think that was a Bigfoot ? " to which he replied in a almost laughing voice " Not as big as the foot my dads about to put in your ass for losing his trout pole ! " True story !

Terrified Girl Followed by Devils Corral Bigfoot
Snake River Sasquatch Pursues Girl in Devils Corral Canyon
Hope writes RMSO
Bigfoot, He travels through the winding canyons of the great snake river. In 1970 I saw him and was followed by him on a night of full moon, in July He struck a mighty pose standing on the canyon ledge about 30 yards above me. I could see his hair rippled by the breeze in the light of that full moon. It was a long run out of that box canyon called DEVILS CORRAL THAT NIGHT. NOW I LIVE IN BLACKFOOT AND I HAVE A SNEAKING SUSPICION A SMALL GROUP OF THEM MIGHT BE GETTING STUDIED BY A CERTAIN BIGFOOT AUTHORITY OUT ON SACRED GROUND.
RMSO responds
Hope, Interesting. I do agree the creature follows the Snake River Canyons. If you don't mind asking I love details of bigfoot encounters and sightings. How long was your encounter and sighting? Could you see the color of its hair, were you able to see its face or eyes? And were you able to get a rough estimate of its height? Sorry all of the questions, I love to hear about peoples personal experiences with bigfoot. Did the creature make any vocalizations that night?
Hope
We were teenagers taking a hike down in a box canyon outside of Twin Falls. It was late evening when we started our hike I was always watching for animal tracks and I noticed an impression about 16 inches long and four or five inches wide. Only one in a watercress covered spring run off, I stuck my hand down in it and felt for depth .It was about 5 or 6 inches deep and I thought it was an odd track but it was filled with water so it appeared rectangular only. We hiked as it got dark and heard a bipedal sound and snorty breathing following aside us and stopping when we did but saw nothing.
We decided to exit back to the spring as we walked I told the others to watch for skunks cause I could smell one. Then we stopped for a breather at the base of the canyon wall ,as I looked up the wall to a ledge protruding half way up it, I saw what I thought was a human silhouette sitting on a rock. Then it stood up taller than any man I had ever seen I would estimate 7-8 ft. Tall. The moon was slightly behind it as it's face was in shadow but I could see long hair waving from shoulders to legs, looking very muscular no neck. Just watching us so close I was afraid to point. I said to the others, What's That!? My boyfriend looked up and said RUN! AND WE DID ALL THE WAY UP THE CANYON ROAD TO THE TOP. I think there was probably 2 of them one was running by us ,and one sitting on the ledge. After 40 yrs I put it together and we never went there again and never told anyone but his mom. They are like any other animal they follow food, habit , and shelter. And I don't think they are hard to find if you seriously want to find one. Their numbers are rising it's obvious.
RMSO
Thank you for elaborating. I pass through Twin Falls often to visit Bigfoot sighting locations and it makes perfect sense to me that these creatures use the Snake River Canyons as their own highway so to speak, plus I am sure many live along this River too.

Chuska Bigfoot near Tsalie Lake
Sasquatch Sighting Captured on Camera
near Tsalie Lake on the Navajo Nation
Nik reports his sighting on Bigfoot media group
Saw this creature on August 12th 2024 around 6:30 am on the Navajo Nation reservation just as the Sun was about to rise above the mountains east of Tsaile (Say ah Lee) Lake. I was thee to fish and was at a place called the point on the northeast side of the lake. As I was casting out lures and gazing around the lake, while retrieving my lure after a catch I noticed movement on the left side of my peripheral vision. I stood up and noticed something reddish with lots of hair. I dropped my rod and got on my knew to get pictures and tried to stay steady as possible because this thing was around 250 yards away.
I had to zoom in & took a few pics as I was watching it walk towards the shore of the lake I thought it was going to go to the lake but it stopped in the bushes of sage that are at least 5ft tall. I was the only one at the lake at the time. I think it might of saw me because where I was I was clearly visible. Then it turned around started to head back into the forest..it made no sound, but the way it walked was not like a person. It had big strides and it seemed like it just took a few steps back into the trees.. I say it was at least 6 to 7 ft tall. Those fence posts are usually about the same height as to keep horses and cattle in the field for grazing. But it was a surreal moment for me...and we do have sightings here in the Chuska mountains area here on the reservation.
RMSO observation
That reddish brown color is about the same color as the last Bigfoot captured on camera in Northeast Arizona in the Navajo Nation. If the sage hitting this creature about chest height are around 5 feet tall then that creature would be 1.5 to 2 feet taller putting this creature over 6 feet tall easily.
The color of the creature is the same color often described in this part of Arizona all the way down to the lush forests of around the Mogollon Rim where people report a creature that can get around 7 feet tall, 400 pounds, reddish brown and often referred to as the Mogollon Monster.
Not long ago there were some really nice Bigfoot tracks found Northeast of Tsaile Lake just across the New Mexico border near Shiprock along the San Juan River & Dave Oz captured a really nice photo of a Bigfoot near that same area too.

Chilling Encounter with Sasquatch at Bear Hunter's Tree Stand
Interview with Challis Bear Hunter Circled by Bigfoot
Bigfoot Circles Bear Hunter's Tree Stand near River of No Return
Jay writes RMSO
During the 2016 late spring bear hunt I saw and heard something I can not explain.
The location was in the Challis National forest between Challis Idaho and Salmon Idaho.
My son and I have hunted this area for the last several years. However our good friend who we hunt with has been hunting this specific area since the early 1980’s.
To get to our tree stands you travel about 15 miles outside the small town of Challis Idaho on your way towards Salmon. Approximately 1 and 1/2 to 2 miles past the Ellis / Pesimoroi junction you turn left and crossing the Salmon river at Deer Gulch Access, Dry Gulch Road turns into Hat Creek Road. Follow up gravel road about 27 miles until the road runs out. You must use a jeep or atv for about 10 to 12 miles until you reach the low timber we then hike in another 3/4 mile to our stands. (will include picture from my tree stand.) Our first stand is on Iron Mountain.
On the morning of June 11, 2016 at about 7am my friends and I headed out to our tree stands for our annual spring bear hunt. We took our 4 wheelers from the cabin and arrived at our stands more than an hour later. Each of the 3 stands is spaced about 3/4 mile to 1 mile apart. Ted and Darin were letting me get settled into my stand first since I was recently recovering from back surgery a few months prior. We drove towards my stand and began to hike the final 3/4 mile in.
Both Ted and I are USMC veterans and as we walked in towards my stand, we notice the sounds of the forest were just not there. It was to quiet, eerily quiet. No birds, no squirrels no nothing. I Mentioned to Ted things just felt weird. Like we were walking into an ambush or something. Ted said maybe “eclipse” is watching us. Eclipse is a really huge black boar we had been seeing on our trail cams for the last 5 years. But could never get a shot at. We named him Eclipse because he is so big he eclipses our 50 gallon bait barrel when standing in front of it.
We just laughed it off and walked into the stand. As I climb the stand about 8ft up the stand shifted and I damn near fell out of it. That's when we realized something had messed with our ladder. that's not unheard of. Bears are curious creatures and do stuff like this all the time. so we just re-secured our straps and I climbed up in.
As with most hunts the first 30 to 45 minutes is boring. Nothing going into the bait barrel. I Notice I would catch myself dozing off. At one point I must have fallen totally asleep because I woke to what I thought was someone saying “Yoop, Yoop, Yoop” then a pause and it would repeat “Yoop, Yoop, Yoop.” I cleared my eyes expecting to see Ted or Darin. I first looked down, then straight ahead towards the bait and then to my right up the hill.
That's when I saw it. I first noticed its color a deep rich red/brown coat, but much longer then a bears coat. It was squatted down in a small open area between trees. The length of the coat struck me as odd so I pulled up my rifle to get a better look threw the scope. just as I got my scope on it, it turned still in the squatting position then stood up, used the smaller tree for a moment to get his balance and walked away on 2 legs back into the tree line. I froze.
I always said if I saw a bigfoot (I am not saying this is what it was.) if I saw ever one I would shoot it. But at that moment I just froze. I couldn’t do it. I believe I was in shock, partially fear of the unknown. But mostly because of how much this thing looked like a human. When it stood up, I could clearly see its back, head, butt, legs, shoulders, arms and back of its hand and the muscles flex as it grabbed the tree for balance. I sat there in disbelieve of what I just saw.
I looked at my watch 11am, We agreed to meet at 1pm for a lunch. Because of my recent surgery Ted and Darin agreed to meet at my stand to help me climb down. 2 hrs to wait. Shit was I anxious. Now I am on hyper alert. after about 30 minutes I heard a clicking sound. At first I was thinking it was a deer or elk calf trying to locate its mother. But the clicks started moving around me. By the third time I pulled out my phone and recorded them. (I will up load them with this report.) I grew up hunting in Oregon and Idaho, I have taught my kids to hunt. I can’t tell you what it was. But I can tell you what it wasn’t. It wasn’t a Bear, it wasn’t an Elk and it wasn’t a guy in a monkey suit hoaxing me.

Trapper Loop Sasquatch Spotted by Truck Driver
Trucker Watches Bigfoot near Oak Brush on Trapper's Loop
Ken writes RMSO
Its been maybe 9 years I was driving a 10 wheel dump truck through Mt. Green over to Eden using Trappers Loop making 5 to 6 trips there and back, one trip I seen big foot only for a second he quickly ran into the trees, In a semitruck your up a little higher so you see more then you would from a car, I know what I saw, believe or don't.
RMSO responds
Wow that is cool. I know of other folks that have saw bigfoot in that area. Did you get a height on him? Did you see his color or see any details of the creature even though the sighting was only for a second or so?
How long ago did this happen? Time of day & time of year?
Ken responds
He had to duck his head or it would of been above the scrub oak,
it was around the fall, and after noon, I'm thinking about 9 years ago, I seen a moose and its calf in the same area but it wasn't them i seen people tried to tell me it was, I looked it up about sightings in Utah and back then right there was the highest sightings in Utah
and I can tell you that the Paterson film must be real cuz it had the same posture.
RMSO
Thanks for the additional details. I know people personally that have saw bigfoot near the same area as you did.
