Growling Sasquatch Outside Rental Cabin near Cherokee, NC

We had an encounter in Whittier, NC in 2021. I had a cabin
rental.
That Friday we came in late from sightseeing in the area around
Cherokee. While she was fixing us a late snack something made a noise on the
porch. I went into kitchen to look out the window and saw nothing. We thought
it to be a deer or raccoon but then it knocked something over and we heard a
deer growl. We went into the living room and I went over by the couch where my
pistol and phone was on a lamp table.
It stopped in front of the window, there
was a nightlight on the pole outside and it lit up the porch enough for us to
see a dark tall creature on the porch. It fit the image of Bigfoot. Big broad
shoulders, black hair, ape features.
My first thought was to pick up the phone
to get a pic of it but then I thought I better pick up the pistol. It grunted
one more time and went on up the mountain. She and I were scared very bad, we
cut all the lights and put chairs against the doors. We were awake all night
and left at daylight.
I looked around on the porch, a huge flower pot was
knocked over. I didn't see any foot prints on or near the porch. Many leaves
had fallen during a storm. I never want to see one that close again, it was within
3ft from the window. I am 6ft tall and it was at least 8ft tall. Very scary
experience.
