Boaters Find Bigfoot Tracks on Yadkin River
near Game Lands South of Mocksville, NC

Cody D writes RMSO
Randomly ran across one of your posts and reminded me of this strange encounter.

A few years back in the foothills of NC we ran across some tracks. It was 50 degrees that morning and these were found on a small bank on the river that was miles from the nearest boat ramp. Also miles from the nearest homes. There was also a smaller set of track that seemed to be on its tip toes. Both tracks led into the water. There was no signs of a boat that had pulled up on the bank and it has poured raining gone day before.

My buddy said I don’t know what’s more scary: Bigfoot or some huge guy out here hunting pigs barefooted.

It’s worth noting I’m 6’2” 240 lbs with size 12 boot. I took my boot off and pressed hard into the sand and as you can see whatever it was was much bigger and heavier than me. Crazy.

Also have heard woods on wood knocking and lots of random trees falling while hunting over the years. Weird stuff.

I can assure you though this is not something we did as a joke or a prank. We were taking some hunting gear down to the river to be picked up by boat as opposed to walking it out and that’s how we stumbled across them. Strange stuff

RMSO responds

Do you happen to have any more photos? I see a partial track ahead of the one you are documenting. Even if they aren't as nice it would be good to see more of the trackway.

What part of NC and what was the name of the river?

Cody continues

I can check but don’t believe so. I pulled those pics from my instagram post like 4-5 years ago when it happened. The only tracks we saw though headed right into the water. I only posted that one track cause it was the most definitive as far as outline.

The foothills and the Yadkin river out near the game lands south of mocksville

Hell they say black panthers don’t exist in NC either but I saw one of them with my own eyes about 10 years ago while leaving hunting in the evening on the side of the road.

What I don’t get with the whole Bigfoot thing though is how no one can seem to get them on a trail camera. Seems like they would but the footprints we saw just don’t make sense for someone to be out there on a cold morning barefoot and being that large. Could happen I guess just not normal at all.

RMSO continues

The creature has been captured on gamecamera several times. (Several Videos Linked Below Article)

Less often than the rare hand held camera video or photo. Many researchers including our team believe the reason is, the creature can see the infrared trigger beam & then avoids the areas they are in.

Cody responds

Well I imagine if they can smell and are as almost as smart as us they can hear, smell and see us coming and know if we set one up.

Trust me I was a non believer but ever since I saw that track it’s made me question things especially the sounds I’ve heard out there.

RMSO

Using trail cams for the last 12 years. They give off a lot of scent themselves. You can smell the plastic, electronics and the batteries especially when they are new. And the sasquatch more than likely have a nose as good as a bear or a blood hound. And so they may avoid them from smell alone

Cody

That doesn’t surprise me one bit and kinda what I’ve though.  I know if I’m 240lbs whatever it was was a lot damn bigger than me based on how deep that print was compared to mine. Def wouldn’t want to cross paths with one without a gun.

It almost seemed like they were running from us cause the track was fresh like we pushed them across the river.

In all the other places I’ve hunted I’ve never heard the wood on wood knock though. Almost like they were trying to scare us off or something.

The sickening smell of the Bigfoot almost made him throw-up
Young Hunter Traumatized by North Carolina Sasquatch

John P writes RMSO
I'm not sure where to start with this! I grew up in Western North Carolina in Cherokee County in the small mountain town of Andrews. From a young age my father had me in the woods hunting, fishing, trapping, and just enjoying the outdoors. I was never afraid to be in the woods even by myself at any time. My father was an outdoorsman who love being in the woods and passed that love on to me.

We spent many seasons in the Western North Carolina mountains so I knew my way around and knew every kind of animal track there was. It was what I am guessing was my first encounter with what I now call Bigfoot happened around 1976 I was 9 years old. We went fishing in the west end of Cherokee county in the Hiwassee lake. My dad and I were fishing early one Saturday morning down Joe Brown highway just past Shook's marina turn-off. It was a small dirt pull-off next to the pavement. The area was undeveloped. Very few houses and those were really far apart. We unloaded my dad's pickup and took out gear down off the bank to the lake shore. It was cool and I remember splitting up from my dad and going around the lake shore while he stayed put. We were about 50 yards from each other. After about an hour of no bites, I picked up and moved back to where my dad was sitting. I sat down next to him and started to eat one of the sandwiches we had brought.

My dad sat up and said, " do you smell that"? It smelled like the worst-smelling dead skunk ever. Worse than one that had been run over on the road. The smell kept getting worse when a large rock came from the direction where dad parked the truck up the bank next to the road. It hit the water causing a massive splash. It was like a full-grown man had done a cannonball dive off the high dive, that kind of splash.  My dad jumped up and ran up the bank and I followed as quickly as I could. When I reached him he was looking around and neither he nor I could find anyone around. There was no way such a large rock could have just rolled down the embankment and caused such a splash. We crossed the road where there was nothing but woods and looked around thinking someone was just messing with us. The smell lingered all the time we were there. We spent the best part of an hour looking for an answer to no avail. I have to admit I was a little bit unnerved. We spoke of the incident over the years but never knew what threw the rock off the embankment.

In 1983 when I was 15 years old and a sophomore in High School was my second encounter. Dad and I had been planning on going deer hunting in the fall of that year. We had been scouting some different areas and had settled on a location in Graham County, NC close to the Tennesse border. We had been fishing on the Cheoah river next to the Tapoco dam and we kept seeing a lot of deer signs just before deer season. There was a small dirt road just as you cross the bridge on the Cheoah river that was a good parking spot that was a good ways off the road.

My dad had to work the first week of deer season so he set a day on the second Saturday. We arrived super early 2 am that day. Parking off the road as we did before when fishing the area. We grabbed our packs and guns starting hiking toward the top of the ridge to set up our blind. It was a simple wooden tree branch blind with old weeping willow fronds and corn husks we had saved. We got about a mile in from the truck and set up in the pitchback dark. I remember using the old aluminum Rayovac flashlights dad had. They put out just a tiny bit of light as the woods were pitch as tar dark. We sat up the blind and hunkered down. We were just up on a small mound near an open grassy area. We were waiting till the first light of day. Time passed as daylight crept in. But no deer was to be seen. It was just before 7 am when my dad told me to stay put as he was going around the hill down towards the truck to see if he could flush out a big buck that may still be bedded down in some thicket. My dad left his 402 bolt action rifle and took my 222 Rimington with him. He was gone about an hour with nothing to show for our time sitting there.

As I leaned back against a tree I began to smell something that made me almost throw up sick. It was such a sickening smell I wasn't sure I could stand it much longer. We had been hearing squirrels barking and birds up in the trees but at that moment everything was dead quiet. To my right, something caught my attention coming out of the woods. Thinking it was my dad I turned my head but what I saw was nothing I had ever seen before nor had I ever seen anything like it again. This thing was massive, solid black standing on two legs. I had to be over 6 or 7 feet tall. It was leaning forward and I remember seeing its arms hanging down to its knees. I was frozen in fear. It was taking massive steps maybe 3 of my steps. All I could do is watch it cross the grassy area in front of me. I don't remember if it looked my way or even noticed me. I'm guessing it was about 30 yards from where I was sitting. I remember the fear that came over me and how I could not move except my head. I remember tears streaming down my face as it walked away into the woods and disappeared out of my sight.

I am ashamed to tell you I sat there and sobbed like a baby. I don't know how much time passed until my dad came back and found me in one more mess of a state. Dad told me, later on, he had to lead me out of the woods back to the truck. He told me I never said a word all the way back home. From that day until now I will not go back into the woods by myself or even with anyone. Today I am 55 years old. I know what I saw and I know what it was not. It was not a bear, wild boar, panther, or any other large animal in the mountains here in Western North Carolina. It took me a long time before I could even talk to my father bout this thing I saw. I never told anyone else as I knew I would be labeled a crazy hillbilly. I still can remember what happened, the smell, and those few moments as it passed by. But I still can not set foot back in the woods. I gave up hunting and fishing, I sold all my equipment that year.

I'm not sure what you can get out of my story as it happened to me. I hope that you don't use my name as I still live in fear of being called a crazy person. But I do hope you can bring the truth about these animals out so that people know they are real.

North Carolina Bigfoot Encounter
 near Swamps of Robeson County

Orrum Sasquatch 7 to 8 Feet Tall
Close Encounter by North Carolina Couple

Melissa Osborn writes RMSO
I had a Bigfoot sighting 8 years ago in North Carolina. 2013 my ex husband and I lived in Orrum NC Robeson County.  About 1/2 mile from our house was some swamps.

We were driving home one day it wasn't late, but just around the time that starts turning dusk outside. About 10 miles from our house we saw figure walking on the side of the road walking towards the way we were traveling as we got closer I was really looking at the figure It appeared to be about 7 to 8 feet tall walking on two legs had hair all over it's body and it's arms came down to about mid leg.

As we passed it I looked at it's face and to me it looked like it had an ape type face.  When we passed it I tried to get my ex husband to turn around or stop so I could take a picture but due to the fact that he didn't have his firearm in the car he wouldn't stop for fear of putting us in dangerous situation.

Funny thing is the day before that I left for work it about 5 in the morning I saw something sitting on the side of the road, right about where the swamp was. It was hairy, it looked like it was sitting up appeared to be some kind of animal but it looked to big to be a dog.

After I thought it didn't make sense, when I think of Bigfoot I assumed they would stay in wooded areas.  In Robeson County there are more fields than woods, but then I thought of all the swamps in the area and how they could easily stay in those swamps go undetected.

I googled sighting in the area found out there was some that have been reported.  I have told a few people what I saw they try to tell me I saw a bear, but I know what bear looks like it definitely wasn't a bear.

Appalachian Bigfoot Encounter

7 Feet Tall Nantahala Female Sasquatch North Carolina

Jay Country Boy writes RMSO

So back in late September this incident occurred. Let me backtrack to the beginning of how this all unfolded.

I was living in Hayesville North Carolina in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains managing a small restaurant called the Huddle House in town. Well things were going great and I was promoted up and over the mountain to Waynesville North Carolina and was offered to have my expenses and the move all taken care of I just needed to find a place.

Well it took some time but finally we found exactly what we wanted nestled in Nantahala National Forest right outside of Franklin North Carolina. Just for perspective there were maybe nine homes Within I don't know couple thousand acres sprinkled about the Mountainside.

Anyway the first day I spoke to the landowner, an elk literally came to walk on the deck as we sat there and talked about the amenities of the house and what it would cost to rent Etc. So naturally this was Paradise this was a home with 13 semanas acres to use at our disposal double-wide Log cabin in the middle of nowhere our nearest neighbor being Maybe quarter mile to a mile away.

So we move in and the very next night to come home from work after a long day probably 9:30 p.m. and as I made my way up onto the deck I noticed 3 crystallized rocks stacked on top of each other I think much of it kind of looked at it for a second and then kind of went in the house and Ill thinking.

Separated and living alone.  Fell asleep one night and felt like I was going to fall off the bed....as I opened my eyes to readjust myself I heard a noise outside the window that bed was upagainst...saw movement and there stood a female like ape person.  With a sad look on her face...startled her and she ran away. It happened so fast I couldn't even react. That night I slipped in and out of sleep...honestly thought maybe it was a dream.

The female was a blonde color...human nose just wider...brow ridge ....thin lips and wide mouth. She looked like a native american...she also had these light brown eyes...or maybe it was just the motion sensors light making them look that way.

She was tall...probably 6.5 to 7ft slender athletic build...4 to 6 inches of hair on arms a tad longer on her head but looked like dread locks or matted hair. Was not  the typical patty type or barrel chested bigfoot ....she was shaped like a human just muscle...could tell she was a female by her breasts and thinning hair on chest. She looked young...vibrant.

Anyway I wasn't sure what to think...I even thought with all the stress I was experiencing, maybe I was having a breakdown...maybe I was losing it so to speak.

Anyway went to work the next morning tried to be normal, end of day hit and I headed home...pulled in the drive way and on the deck were three more crystal rocks stacked on deck. Now that's where it had me like what's going on.

I'd say it was about 6pm I grabbed a beer 🍺 and sat on the deck just trying to get a handle on my emotions when I heard a call I'd never heard before ...sat there a moment trying to listen and heard it again. At the time I had this app that did animal hunting calls, so I'm there sitting scrolling through different animal calls trying to figure out what it was.

Then I heard a tree crash probably 100 yards away from me. That's when I felt a little concerned, thought maybe a black bear was close so I went in the house.

Hour or two passes and I hear what sounds like two people talking but I couldn't make what they were saying out. Gibberish is the best way to convey what it sounded like to me. High and low pitch with mashed together words. I thought maybe the x was here to puck up things or brought the kids and jumped up and went on to the deck....but no one was there.

I have seen a few over in the Pont Mountain area of Ashe County NC.
I live in Butler Tennessee and have heard some calls and wood knocking on the ridge above my home as well.

RMSO responds
Hi Rick,
When you have some time please email us with details of your most memorable encounter.

Rick responds
Last year deer hunting in the woods of Ashe County NC.
Around daybreak I heard some very strange noises, grunting howling etc..
This went on for about an hour or so. I know it wasn't a bear.

A few minutes later the worse smell, then things got deathly quiet.
The area was very thick with laurel.

I heard it coming, then I saw it.
I'd say it was about 7.5 to 8.5 feet tall. Guessed about 500 to 600 pounds.
Dark brown and light brown mixed hair, yes hair.
Had what looked like a dome shaped head with big dark eyes.
It's legs were slightly bent at the knees.
I looked straight at it and it at me.
This thing was massive.
It grunted at me and turned and went back down the holler and I left with haste.
I've been hunting for years and this thing was not a bear.

Two Suggs Sasquatch Double Bigfoot Sighting

Carl W writes RMSO

Hi,

I'm an avid hunter and frequently hunt public land in Bladen County, NC.  I have hunted this particular area yearly since 2006.

In November, 2013, I was walk hunting about a mile and a quarter from the nearest access point.  When I arrived at the parking area, I was the only one there.  There are no other access points for miles around.  It was about 1 hour and 15 minutes before sunrise.  It was clear, calm, and cold; about 25 degrees F.

I set out down a long narrow two-rut road, that runs around a lake.  I often travel without using a flashlight.  I finally reached and area that opens up onto a clear cut.  It was still before shooting light, so I sat down for about 15 minutes.  Then I started walking slowly along the two rut that ran between the clear cut and a thick bay, largely impenetrable by a man.  I saw a lone doe further the two rut, about 75 yards in front of me.

Due to the cold and previous darkness, I had my hood over my blaze orange hat, I uncovered my hat (I wish I had left it up).  At any rate, I crept forward, but had decided not to take the deer.  She slowly fed out into a small clear cut on the left of the two rut (the large clear cut was on the right).  This indent in the bay, had been timbered and at that time had knee high grasses.  White tails average 3 feet at the shoulder and I could see her clearly enough to shoot.  It is 150 yards east to west and about 80 yards deep.

As I watched the deer, I saw a man, emerge from the bay on the far side.  I thought, how the heck did that guy get here before me?  I never looked at him with my rifle scope because I thought he was a man.

It walked along the far edge of the small clearing.  I could see it from the hips up.  It looked all grey and had a slightly conical shaped head.  I thought it was odd and then realized it was all one color, had no backpack, no gun (both arms swinging freely), and no blaze orange. I could clearly see it's breath.  It was still a few minutes before actual sunrise.

Then I saw a second one emerge from the thick bay, walking about 10 feet behind the first; they were identical.  The deer was no where to be seen.  They proceeded along the far edge of the clearing.  About 2/3 of the way across the clearing, there was an uprooted tree, with its root ball stuck pretty high in the air.

The root ball came between us.  They disappeared behind the root ball.  They never reappeared and did not come out to the two rut I was standing at the edge of.  They must have seen my hat and when they got behind the root ball, they turned directly away.  I waited for about 10 minutes wondering what just happened; I never scoped them, I don't know why now because they weren't men.

I slowly walked down to where they would have come out to the two rut; about 125 yards.  When I looked to the back of the clearing, where they came from, I got nervous as hell.  The game department had dug sand out of that end for something and it was then I realized they had to be at least 8 feet tall for me to see them from the hips up.

I'll be honest, I was spooked now.  Kind of like loosing track of a mama bear and cubs that were too close.  I never heard any sounds from them and the woods were absolutely quiet.  I turned directly north and fast walked across the big clearing; about 1/3 of a mile.  It took me 3 years before I went down that stretch of two rut again.

I always wanted to explore where they came from, but just couldn't bring myself to do it.  I will be back there this Fall and I'm gonna look for sign.  Please see the attachment.

I have had occasion to hear whoops, knocks, and howls in my home county; Johnston, in years past.  I have also heard excited whoops and extremely loud knocks, while hunting in Colorado in years past as well.  I will tell you about those knocks.

My father had killed an elk about 400 yards up a slide that descended down a mountain.  He gutted it that night, and we planned to go up and pack it down the next day.

I went hunting that morning and got to the bottom of the slide about 10 AM.  The way it was shaped, I couldn't see my dad up there.  I started up the slide and found him working on the elk.

He said, "Were you up there (pointed up the mountain) messing with me?"  I looked down and said, hell it's all I can do to climb up here.  He said he heard loud knocks and pointed to a tree line up the slide about 100 yards.  He said it was so loud it was like "A man hammering nails."

Jokingly I mentioned Bigfoot and then we proceeded to work on the elk.  About 30 minutes later, I heard knocks so loud I would characterize it as a man beating on a log with an axe handle.  There were about 20 knocks in continued, rapid succession; just like the pace of using an axe, then they stopped.  When they started, my dad said there, that's what I'm talking about.

I would guesstimate they were no further than 75 yards away.  I thought for sure I could see what was doing it, but I couldn't.  There were no other sounds or activity after that.

The elevation was about 12,000 feet and we (and a couple other guys were camping about 30 minutes away).  We didn't see any other hunters the whole trip.  I have some other stories and so did my dad; but maybe another time.  That was in the White River NF outside of Meeker, CO.  Best wishes.

Thanks for including me in your group. I live in Ky and as a truck driver I love Montana. My sighting was as a young boy of 9 in Fontana North Carolina. Never spoke of it much as my parents assured me it was a black bear. I know what I saw. Interested ever since. I have been on a few pages. Looking for real encounters and believers not people who make fun or degrade people for what I like to think as being Blessed to see what very few do. Thanks

We would like to hear the details of what happened and what you saw. On this thread or you can email us at RMSObigfoot@gmail.com

Well we were on Vacation in the Smokies. Rented a Cabin. We took our dirt bikes. That morning we, my Dad Mom and Brother were walking a trail Everything was normal. My brother stepped on a Green Snake and yelled. We all came to see it.

As we walked away I was in the rear. I was watching the snake to see if it would get off the trail. Just to the right of the trail I seen it looking around the tree. It was hugging it.
It stepped out paused for what seemed forever then walked away from us and the path.

By the time I filtered it all I could do was holler for my dad. I told them what I saw and of course the bear was logical. Never seen a face. It was big. I was a child so how big it really was I can not say. Height wise.

I remember it had a stride to its movement. Never made a noise that I remember. If I were to guess we had walked probably 30 yards away before I seen it. This is only the 2nd time I have told this publicly. I never really could explain what it was so I just kept it to myself.

Over the years and hearing many stories and documentaries I am comfortable talking about it. Plus I was young and I always thought no one would ever believe me. There it is. I was not scared when I saw it. Shocked would be more the term to use. Never seen anything like it again. Or before that day.

The following photo was taken by a woman outside her home near Boone, NC in 2018.
Photo experts have enhanced the photo into a bigger file in an attempt to bring more detail out of the suspect Bigfoot in the picture. The woman's photo was just recently discovered & according to experts, it is not a cut-out nor was the original photo shopped.

RMSO opinion. The figure is definitely an object in the photo. More research needed to determine if this is a statue, wood carving, costume or an actual Bigfoot.
Interesting for sure.

North Carolina toddler Casey Hathaway found alive, in good health after 3 days missing in sub freezing temperatures. Some of the coldest North Carolina temperatures since 2012.

Bears usually hibernate during the worst & coldest times during the winter & no credible reports of them caring for lost children.

North Carolina was experiencing some of the coldest temperatures there since 2012. Cold enough to freeze surfaces of lakes & ponds. Sounds like the worst part of Winter for North Carolina. Was this really a bear that should be hibernating caring for this lost three year old boy?

Was it Bigfoot that cared for this toddler for two days?
There have been reports of Bigfoot helping lost children.
