The smell a friend and I got was that of rotten gas like from a sewer which was no place near us for miles.
The first time my uncle and I was elk hunting in the sunlight area with horses. It was just as the sun was coming up we spotted something dark sitting on a rock out cropping. It was less then 1/2 mile away in a clearing.

We both got off the horses to glass what we were seeing. It just set there watching the meadow below us. We watched for sometime before we rode off. My uncle gone now even said "what in the world is that?"
It was huge and black or dark colored. We both said maybe a bigfoot. We come back that area and didn't see anything. For sure was not a hunter just big sitting on the rock.
The next time a friend of mine and I was hunting back towards Cooke city. We had rode a long ways back into the back country. We started smelling rotten smell. There was an old trapper cabin about 1/4 mile from us.
I told him "you hold the horses I am going to walk down to it." We thought it maybe was a bear. There was nothing at the old cabin so we rode on into the forest. We spent most of the day there so we decided we had better start back before dark
We got to the same spot and had that odor again. We set there for a bit and the smell left.
I haven't told very many people because they would think we had been drinking. I don't drink lol.
My wife and my kids left a camp spot one time in the night something was throwing something at our tent. Kids were real young so we packed up and left about midnight. I do believe.

Amazing, we actually went to Cody for a full week the 1st week of September to investigate a Bigfoot sighting in Sunlight Basin.

We also investigated two others near the Bear Tooth Mountains and a 4th one at a campground west of Cody.
Exciting to hear about another sighting of the creature in Sunlight Basin.
What year, month and time of day did you & your uncle observe the bigfoot?

It has been about 10 years ago. It was just as the sun was coming up. I never told anyone out of the family. Didnt want people thinking I was crazy. But it was big and dark.
